Raíces Latino Arts is a 501(c)(3) organization in Charlotte, NC. We create impactful and innovative experiences that celebrate and promote Latino art and culture.

Through our programming, exhibitions and original content we strive to foster a love for Latino arts , promote lifelong learning, and build connections among our communities.

Under our founding board and executive director leadership, Raíces Latino Arts is committed to creating a space where Latino culture can be celebrated, nurtured, and shared with the greater Charlotte community and beyond.

With years of experience in the arts and education, Alexander has seen how deeply culture shapes identities and communities. As an arts supporter in our community, he recognized the need for a platform to authentically celebrate and share Latino voices, stories, and art. Surrounded by rich cultural expressions growing up, he understands their importance to identity and the need for spaces where they can thrive.

Inspired by this need, Alexander’s vision for Raíces came to life. As a member of Levine Museum of the New South, he has led impactful programs and digital initiatives. He also co-founded the Charlotte Latino Film Festival with his wife, Giovanna Torres.

In addition, Alexander has led educational initiatives at institutions like Central Piedmont Community College, UNC Charlotte and the University of Connecticut, focusing on fostering culturally enriching environments and empowering future generations—central to Raíces Latino Arts’ mission.
